Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (including weekdays and weekends)
Ratio: 1:2 (based on patient acuity; may include overflow patients requiring step-down level care)
EMR System: Cerner
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years as an RN with direct experience in:
- Fresh open-heart admissions from OR
- Cardiac surgery skills
- Swan-Ganz catheter management
- Impella device monitoring
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Activated Clotting Time (ACT) experience is mandatory
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Travel Experience: Not required
- Schedule: Blocked schedules considered only if requesting weekends only (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)
- Scrubs: Not provided
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of RN license verification (recently pulled within 2 days of submission)
- Candidate profile including work history
- Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- Minimum 2 clinical manager/charge nurse references within the past 2 years
- All required certifications must be on file prior to start; no pending certifications allowed
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
- Proof of I9 or attestation and E-Verify documentation
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual updates)
- Drug screening (10-panel, within 30 days of start and updated annually)
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD within 12 months or equivalent)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations (within 2 years or signed declination)
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required; vaccination records or signed declination accepted
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of Care Learning Modules prior to start
- Completion of Cerner Learning Training Modules prior to orientation
- ReadySet (RS) Surveys (online health assessment paperwork) must be completed by facility deadlines
- Photo for badge required prior to clearance
- Background drug screen consent form must be completed prior to start
- Non-disclosure of confidential information agreement required
- Parking pass application completion required
- For Cath Lab RNs: Transcript/Diploma and Point of Care Technician Application required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and credentialing requirements before starting
- All certifications and competencies must be current and verifiable
- Stroke education CEUs (8 hours annually) required for certain units, including this one
- Color blindness testing and competency exams may be required as applicable
