Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Contract

Location: Lincoln, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assignment at a critical access hospital.
• Must have graduated from an approved MT or MLT program.
• Work schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each after the first week of training.
• Weekend rotation: usually every 5th weekend.
• No on-call duties.
• Fill in Thursday night shift and can pick up additional vacancies if not filled by regular staff.
• Microbiology experience preferred; if not, must be skilled in gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures.
• Must be proficient in phlebotomy.
• Ability to perform Blood Bank testing required.
• Work holidays on a rotating basis as needed.
• Must be proficient with COVID-19 regulations (PPE, isolation rooms, etc.).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
• Strong communication skills required.

Certifications

• BLS/BCLS required.

Additional Information

• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts within the 12-week period.
