X-Ray Technologist (0-2 years) - Contract
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Job Summary
Operate or oversee radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance for patients and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxiety by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff using protection techniques, shielding, and beam restriction.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality and production of radiographs by processing images, observing results, and making adjustments.
- Document patient care services and verify exam completion in records.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory and anticipate needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Keep professional and technical knowledge current through CME, workshops, publications, and professional societies.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- No prior experience required.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist by New York State Department of Health.
- Competency in diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Quality-focused, dependable, with strong planning and people skills.
- Commitment to creating a safe and effective work environment.
Contract Length
Approximately 9 weeks (61 days rounded to nearest week).
