Description
Travel RN Step Down Nurse Opportunity
Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Specialty: RN Step Down (3South Stepdown Unit)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Work on a new 3South Stepdown unit
- Patient ratios typically 1:4 or 1:5 (may fluctuate with census and call-ins)
- Previous Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown experience required
- Kentucky RN license or compact license valid in KY required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- Candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility
- Schedule: 36 hours on / 48 hours off over a two-week pay period
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (AHA only, front and back of certificate if not electronic)
- ACLS (AHA only, required for all RNs except Psych and True Med/Surg units)
- NIH Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)
- Kentucky RN License or Compact License (must be current and valid)
- Nursys Verification (within 30 days of start)
Required Health & Immunization Documentation
- Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer (or first dose of series with follow-up)
- Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
- Annual Influenza Vaccine (October-March) or approved medical/religious exemption
- Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer (or first dose of series with follow-up)
- Tdap vaccination (valid 10 years, declinations accepted)
- TB Quantiferon or QuantiFERON blood test within one year prior to start
- Annual Physical or Health Statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating "clear to work" and free of restrictions
- ARH 20/20 Drug Screen (must be completed within 30 days of start)
Required Professional Documentation & Checks
- ARH Submission Packet including cover page, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification in one PDF
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience (must be documented with facility and unit info)
- 2 Professional References (1 charge nurse or higher, 1 supervisor reference within last year)
- ARH 20/20 Background Check (within 30 days prior to start, includes education and employment verifications)
- ARH Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification (within 30 days prior to start)
- ARH Job Description signed and dated (annual update required)
- ARH Assignment Confirmation form uploaded within 24 hours of offer acceptance
- ARH Employee Health Attestation Form completed prior to compliance deadline
Required Competency & Skills Testing
- ARH EKG Exam and Telemetry Exam (unit-specific, within one year prior to start)
- ARH Skills Checklist (unit-specific, within one year prior to start)
- ARH Competency Exam (unit-specific, within one year prior to start)
- ARH Core Competencies (HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives; annual update required)
