Travel RN Opportunity - Operating Room (OR) - Houston, Texas
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Unit Information
- Unit: Operating Room, South Tower, 2nd Floor
- Number of ORs: 14 total (2 CVORs, 12 ORs)
- Staffing: 8 RNs and 8 Surgical Technologists (STs)
- Shift Coverage:
- Day Shift: 6 RNs, 6 STs
- OR Hours: 07:30 to 15:00 (6 rooms), 15:00 to 17:00 (3 rooms), 17:00 to 19:00 (2 rooms), 19:00 onward on-call team
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- EMR System: Meditech ORM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years OR Circulating experience at an acute care hospital (higher than the 1 year noted elsewhere)
- Varied skill set including General Surgery, ENT, Urology/Gynecology, Orthopedics, Robotics
- Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR Certification
- More than 5 years of experience in OR nursing

Work Environment & Expectations
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Shift starts at 06:30 with daily huddle at 06:45
- 30-minute response time required for on-call shifts
- Staff self-schedule on-call shifts (1 to 2 per week depending on PTO)
- On-call required weekdays and weekends
- Weekends covered by on-call 24 hours Saturday/Sunday
- Call shifts begin immediately after regular shift ends (5pm or 7pm) and last until 7am
- Dress code: Scrubs provided by hospital
- Artificial nails, dips, gels, etc., are not permitted
