ER RN Opportunity - New Hampshire

Location: Colebrook, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Unit: Emergency Room (7 beds, including 1 trauma room)

Requirements & Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• TNCC, ENPC preferred
• Strong IV skills preferred
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs (Mindray monitors)

Work Environment & Details

• Only 1 nurse staffed in the ER per shift (potential 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio)
• Charge nurse support from med-surg unit when needed
• ER tech available during the day; no tech on nights
• No security or sitters; panic button available, police respond quickly
• Weekend shifts every 3rd weekend (may be more frequent as needed)
• Holiday shifts rotate with permanent staff
• Any color scrubs allowed as long as professional
• Ventilator: Newport HT70
• ER MD coverage 24/7; hospitalist on call at night
• Nurses perform lab draws if lab unavailable
• No IV team; provider places PICC lines during the day
• Respiratory treatments done by nurses (no RT)
• Pharmacist available until 3 PM; tele-pharmacy on call after hours
• May be required to mix medications after hours
• Floating within the facility may be required
• One shift with a preceptor for orientation
• Common diagnoses: wide variety
