Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide physical therapy services across multiple patient care areas including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology.
- Primary role involves inpatient patient care.
- May float within therapy service lines as needed.
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (start time flexible up to 8:00 AM).
- Required to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks, with a compensatory day off during that week.
- No on-call requirements.
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted.
- Pending state license accepted.
- Return to office restrictions: No more than 7 days off within the 13-week contract.
- Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
Requirements
- Licensure: State Licensed Physical Therapist. Pending state license accepted.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required. First-time travelers accepted.
- Skills:
- Acute care experience required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability and desire to work with a variety of patient populations.
- Competency in assessments, documentation, patient/family education, and safety & injury prevention.
Facility Highlights
- Teaching hospital with Level Trauma designation.
- Total staffed beds: 1259.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Scrub colors: Black or Gray.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required.
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Education verification of highest relevant degree required before start.
- Professional license primary source verification required (NURSYS for Missouri).
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and be valid throughout assignment.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
- Various facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Background checks and state-specific searches as required by Missouri and Illinois regulations.
Additional Notes
- Must complete unit-specific competency exams annually, including medication and oncology competency if applicable.
- May be required to complete crisis prevention or management of assaultive behavior certifications depending on unit.
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year.
- Employment application and skills checklist required prior to start.
