Job Opportunity: Cardiovascular Technologist (Cath Lab Tech)
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (4x10s)
- Shift hours: 07:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- No on-call requirement
- Start date options: January 5 or January 17
Job Description
The Cardiovascular Technologist works in the cardio-endovascular catheterization laboratory performing duties such as:
- Monitoring and scrubbing during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Assisting physicians, radiologic technologists, cardiovascular technologists, and nurses
- Ensuring efficiency and maintaining a customer-friendly environment in the lab
Required Credentials & Experience
- Current ARRT credential
- OMBI license (must be obtained prior to start)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - AHA provider only, traditional AHA accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification - AHA provider only, traditional AHA accepted
- Cardiac and Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
Certifications & Training Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS (PALS not required for ED OBS positions) must be AHA traditional provider certifications; RQI and certificates of completion are not accepted except for specific exceptions (e.g., HeartCode AHA accepted as of 7/13/2023)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (includes Bloodborne Pathogen, Tuberculosis, and HIPAA training)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training may be required depending on assignment
- NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on assignment
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing grade 85%+, updated annually)
- Competency Exam (passing grade 85%+, updated annually)
Background & Compliance Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required 30 days prior to start and updated monthly
- Education verification for highest level of education (not required for CNA or EVS Aides)
- International background check if residency outside the US in past 10 years
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job duties
- Fit mask testing on-site on first day; annual updates required
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years prior to start (declinations accepted with signed form)
- Negative TB test (Qgold/TSPOT) within 1 year prior to start; PPDs not accepted; annual updates required
- TB Questionnaire annually for past positives
- Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (immune titer and 3 vaccines preferred or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: 10-panel including methamphetamines within 30 days prior to start; laboratory-based through SAMHSA certified lab
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (mask policy applies if declined)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no declinations or exemptions allowed)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date; any planned unavailability must be communicated in advance
- Photo for badge must be submitted prior to starting work
- Completion of confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement prior to start
- Respiratory questionnaire must be completed and handled per facility instructions
- Vaccine declination/waiver forms must be signed if applicable (e.g., Hepatitis B, COVID religious or medical exemptions)
- Traveler network account form must be completed within 48 hours of signing contract

- At least 2 professional employment references required (except Medical Scribes)
