Location: Maryville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (OBGYN)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
- Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd weekend
- Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
- Patient Age Group: Neonates and Adults
- Unit: Accepts first-time travelers depending on experience
- Scrubs: Provided
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Required Skills and Competencies
- Labor and Delivery nursing
- Non-Stress Test (NST)
- Oxytocin Challenge Test (OCT)
- Sterile Vaginal Exam
- Triage of Obstetrical Patients
- Use of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- Spiral Electrode Placement
- External & Internal Fetal Monitoring
- Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC) Placement and Calibration
- Recognition and Treatment of Abnormal Fetal Heart Rate Patterns
- Administration of Blood & Blood Products
- Drawing Venous Blood
- Starting and Maintaining Peripheral IVs
- Use of Infusion Pumps / Drips / IV Monitoring
- Circulating and Recovery for C-Section
- Epidural Anesthesia assistance

Required Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Emergency Contact Form
- Background Check (within 1 year, covering last 7 years of residence/work/school)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual)
- Education Verification (Transcript or Diploma acceptable)
- Illinois Adult Abuse Registry Search (required, can pend at start)
- State License Verification and NURSYS verification (for RN)
- Pass/Fail Testing on medication and glucose meter during orientation (two attempts allowed)
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
- Physical Exam (within 1 year)
- Fit Mask Testing (within 12 months)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, vaccination, or history)
- Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year
- Flu Vaccination: Not required but strongly recommended
- COVID-19 Exemptions: Medical and Religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years
- Resume required
- Work History Verification: 7 years required (attestations allowed after 3 attempts)

This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive Labor and Delivery unit with a focus on comprehensive obstetrical care, including high-level fetal monitoring and C-section support. Ideal candidates will have strong clinical skills in OBGYN nursing and be prepared for night shifts with weekend coverage.
