Contract Length

Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- California State License
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit and specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI) — verify with clinical track or unit requirements.
Scheduling and Floating
- One weekend day every other weekend (usually Sunday)
- Floating between Acute Rehab and other inpatient floors is required
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager discretion
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Must be within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation.
- References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years (6 months for CNAs).
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment.
- Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units.
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; instant tests not accepted.
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, updated annually
- Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent), updated annually for travel candidates

- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities nearby.
- WorkRamp Training Modules:
- Core and specialty-specific modules required prior to start and annually.
- Modules assigned based on profession, specialty, and region.
- Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required; transcripts must be submitted prior to moving to paid status.
