Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Facility Type: Transplant facility, Primary stroke center

Job Details
- Schedule: Must work Saturdays & Sundays
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
- Minimum Experience: 1 year; first-time travelers accepted
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holidays:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler must work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day - Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 hours for 12-week assignment)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
Required Documents & Compliance
Identification & Background
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
- Background Check within 30 days of start, including:
- Permanent and non-permanent county checks
- National sex offender registry
- Nationwide criminal search
- FACIS 3
- Education verification of related degree
- Diplomas required for RRTs
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- References: 2 clinical references required (Aya requirement)
- Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is running (due within 30 days post start)
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RN/RRT/CRT in specified specialties; must be current before start or obtained within 30 days for CRTs
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as per specialty
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire; no renewal required
- Tech Certification Verification: Allied annual license verification within 30 days prior to start
- State License Verification: Must be current within 30 days prior to start; CRTs & RRTs must be licensed in Georgia
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: As required by specialty
- Other: Specialty-specific certifications as per clinical guidelines
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed)
- Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU) with max 3 attempts
Facility-Specific Documents
- Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement (must review/sign prior to start)
- Dress and Professional Appearance Policy (must review)
- Additional compliance checklists and vaccine declination forms apply only to privileging specialties (e.g., CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant, RNFA)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start (not required by client)
- TB Testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months of start; if past positive, must have proof and negative chest x-ray within 6 months
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post start if eligible
- Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post start if eligible
- Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination; declination form required if titer negative
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination; strongly encouraged during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Notes
- Clinical screening required to determine fit before manager decision
- Candidate must be fully compliant with all requirements to start on time
- Floating assignments may be required within the facility or outpatient areas as needed
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized transplant and stroke center environment with a focus on radiology and cardiology services. Candidates should be prepared for weekend shifts and holiday work as outlined.
