Job Details

Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in both pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia care
- Ability to use clinical judgment for staffing needs based on patient acuity and interventions
Certifications Required
- ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- PALS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) (if applicable)
- IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other as applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if required)
- NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years if required)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if required)
- State License (valid and verified)
- NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Drug screening: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- State-specific searches and attestations as required (Oregon and Washington)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (if onsite)
- Respirator safety clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, annually

- Epic training modules required within a week of orientation
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
- Float policy acknowledgment required (may float to other Providence facilities nearby)
