Job Description
- Position in a rehabilitation unit with 2 years experience preferred.
- Travel/contract employment type.
Required Documentation & Compliance
Identification & Verification
- Proof of I9 or Attestation
- Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
- Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal
- Transcript/Diploma or Education Verification (highest degree completed required)
- Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprinting required for behavioral health units/campuses (must be completed in Maryland, results required before start)
Certifications (AHA only unless otherwise noted)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for IMC/PCU/Stepdown/ICU/ED/Peds ED/PreOP/PACU/OR RN/Cath lab/IR/CVIR/Radiology RN/Observation RN/RRT/EP Lab RN/CNOR
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all units
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for Peds RN/ED/Peds ED RN/PreOP/PACU RN
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for NICU/L&D/Mother Baby/RRT NICU
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required as applicable
- State License (copy required, must not expire within 30 days of start)
- State License Primary Source Verification required
- NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for ER/Peds ED/ED/Behavioral Health/Social Work/Needs assessment/CNAs in ICU; MAB accepted in lieu if already held
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required for ED/Peds ED
- STABLE Certification – Required for NICU/L&D/Baby Mother (cannot start without)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
- Other certifications as applicable (e.g., ARRT for Radiology Techs)
Note: Certifications must be valid beyond 30 days from start date; proof of completion is not acceptable, actual card/certification required.
Health Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit Mask Test within 12 months of start (specific approved masks listed; no religious or medical exemptions accepted without facility approval)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (must include Pertussis)
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON-TB Gold or TSPOT within 90 days of start) or 2-step TB skin test; chest x-ray if history of positive TB test
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B: Positive quantitative IGG titer within 5 years required; series must be repeated if low titer until positive or 6 doses received
- Drug Testing: 11 panel including cotinine/nicotine and marijuana within 30 days of start; must be renewed if gap >30 days
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination (mandatory for 2025-26 season; no declinations except approved religious/medical exemptions)
- Eye Exam (Visual Acuity Screening) within 6 months of start, repeated annually; minimum corrected vision 20/40
- Color Blind Exam within 5 years of start
- COVID-19 Vaccination strongly recommended; declinations require facility approval
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
- Competency Exam required
- Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Smoke/nicotine free campus; no nicotine/cotinine allowed
- Behavioral health fingerprint confirmation and CPS background check required for behavioral health units
- Fit Test Medical and Religious Exemptions require facility-approved forms completed by healthcare provider or faith leader
- New form completion acknowledging tobacco-free workplace and nicotine-free status for past 90 days
- Radiation Badge provided by facility for radiology-related roles; prior badge holders grandfathered
- Attestation of Prior Radiation Exposure required for specific tech and OR roles
History & References
- Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Performance evaluation if worked with the system over 1 year
- Complete application/resume required
