Registered Nurse (Stepdown) - Morgantown, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Shift:
- Days: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 AM - 7 PM), weekdays with some weekends
- Nights: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM), weekdays with some weekends
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4, may flex to 1:5 in emergencies
- Unit Info: Stepdown Unit (SDU) with patients similar to Progressive Care or Telemetry in larger facilities; acuity varies
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 1.5 to 2+ years as an RN
- At least 1 year experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
- At least 2 years experience in Stepdown nursing
- Must be able to read cardiac strips
- Skills Required: IV start, telemetry monitoring
- Certifications Required: BCLS, ACLS
- Travel Experience: Not required
- Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)
- EMR System: Cerner
- Schedule Flexibility: Weekend block schedules considered (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)
- Holiday Time Off: Limit requests to no more than 1 of the 4 major holidays
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Licenses & Certifications:
- RN License verification (recently pulled)
- BCLS and ACLS certifications on file prior to start (no pending certificates allowed)
- Other certifications may be required depending on specialty (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification)
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within the last year, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual)
- Immunizations and titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccination or declination required
- Competency & Training:
- Completion of Core Parts I, II, III or signed HIPAA form
- Color Blind Testing
- Competency exams as applicable
- Cerner Learning Training Modules (must be completed prior to orientation)
- Facility-specific Care Learning Modules (must be completed prior to start)
- Facility Specific:
- Photo for badge prior to clearance
- Background drug screen consent form
