Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN Circulator)

Location: Pratt, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Role: OR RN Circulator
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 06:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Weekend/On-Call: Call every 5th or 6th weekend plus one weekday
• Experience: Minimum 1 year required
• Specialty Proficiency: Must be proficient in Orthopedics (total joints), General Surgery, and Obstetrics (OB)
• Special Procedures/Equipment: Orthopedics, Gynecology, Podiatry, General Surgery, Endoscopy, Labor and Delivery including C-sections

Licensure & Certifications Required

• Licensure: Kansas RN license
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Required Certifications (may be unit-specific)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ICU, required for ED
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - required for Labor and Delivery
• STABLE (preferred, not required for Labor and Delivery)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Federal Criminal Felony & Misdemeanor check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated every contract renewal)
• Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months
• Physical Exam: Within 12 months, including clearance to work and free of communicable diseases
• Immunizations and Health Screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or as applicable)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity via titer or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity via titer or vaccination
  • Flu Vaccine: Mandatory during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) unless medically exempt
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required; declination or exemption accepted on facility form

Training & Orientation

• Completion of facility-specific training modules prior to start
• Review and sign Confidentiality Agreement, Standards of Performance, and Agency Information Sheet
• Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission annual training)
• Review of Restraints Training and Suicide/Behavioral Risk Assessment prior to arrival (return demonstration may be required)
• First Day Instructions will be provided before start

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score)
• Unit-specific competency exams (minimum 80% passing score)
• Core training parts I, II, and III (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission)

References & History

• Two professional clinical references required
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year
• Signed Skills Checklist updated annually
