Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pomona, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00 or 07:30-17:30
- Average Daily Cases: 7-15
- Call Requirement: 5 weekday nights and 1 full weekend every 6 weeks (7 shifts in a 6-week schedule)
- Experience Required: Interventional Radiology (IR), Scrub, and Special Procedures
- Work Locations: May float between Mainland and Atlantic City campuses as needed
- Certifications/Licenses:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- New Jersey License (can be obtained prior to start)
- ARRT VI preferred
- Additional Experience Desired: Hybrid OR experience
- Uniform and Parking: Uniform provided upon arrival; parking available at each facility
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Certifications and Competencies
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA certified)
- BLS (AHA certified)
- PALS or NRP (for RRTs)
- ARRT certification and NJ Rad Tech license required for Radiology Techs
- NIH Stroke Certification (for RNs in specific units)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER RNs
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) for Behavioral Health and ER RNs, LPN/LVNs as applicable
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (all nurses except OR and Case Managers)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (ED/ER, Tele, Adult critical care)
- Core Mandatories/Inservice Training (Core Part I, II, III) with passing score of 80%+ (Core 3 not required for Radiology Tech)
- Pass/Fail “In House Skills Assessment” during orientation (contract may be cancelled if failed)
Required Documentation and Background Checks
- Work Eligibility: I9 or attestation confirming eligibility to work in the US
- Photo ID: Government-issued photo ID required
- E-Verify: Confirmation of work eligibility required
- Background Check:
- 7-year search within 30 days of start
- Includes SS trace, aliases, national/statewide/county checks, FACIS Level 3, National Sex Offender
- Education verification required
- International search if lived outside the US in last 7 years
- Annual background check required by agency (not necessarily by facility)
- Fingerprinting: Required only for Behavioral Health units, must be completed prior to orientation
- State-Specific Checks: NJ Department of Treasury Exclusions List within 30 days of start
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Medical clearance within 1 year of start
- Fit Mask Test: Within 1 year and updated annually (not required for Lab Techs or Sterile Processing Techs)
- Vaccinations and Titers:
- Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella: Vaccines or positive titer required; if non-immune, vaccine series must be started prior to start date
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination (required for all travelers during flu season; exemptions require facility approval)
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Additional Requirements
- References: Two current references from supervisors or educators within the past 2 years
- Employment History: Documented work history covering 2 years related to the position
- Skills Checklist: Completed within the last 12 months, appropriate to assigned unit
- Performance Evaluation: Agency-specific evaluation completed within last 12 months
- Orientation and Facility Documents: Completion and acknowledgment of facility-specific job descriptions, HIPAA, safety manuals, dress code, hand hygiene, confidentiality agreements, and orientation materials
This position offers a structured schedule with a clear call rotation, requires specialized interventional radiology skills, and mandates comprehensive credentialing and compliance with health and safety standards. It is suitable for both experienced and first-time travel healthcare professionals.
