Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Facility: Ambulatory clinic near main hospital and additional location ~2 miles away
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Oncology focus)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM (varies with patient load)
- Schedule: No weekends
- License Requirements:
- Virginia license required
- Temporary licensure possible if licensed in another state
- Certifications Required:
- ARRT Certification for therapy
- ARIA charting experience required
- Experience:
- Prefer inpatient hospital experience
- Outpatient experience in radiation oncology center using Truebeam and ARIA accepted
Key Requirements & Compliance
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
- Education verification through a 3rd party vendor (official transcripts required)
- Fingerprinting requirements may apply depending on unit
- Abuse registry search required only for Behavioral Health and specific units
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required for most candidates
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Chemotherapy certification, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and others may be required or preferred depending on unit
- Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required for oncology roles (ONS/ONCC)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for Behavioral Health nurses
- State license primary source verification required within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (no exemptions allowed)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with 2-step PPD or Qgold (Tspot not accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire if past positive
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required (no declinations)
- Hepatitis B: Positive surface antibody titer required or antigen titer if antibody is low/negative
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required (declination accepted but must be documented)
- Drug testing: 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl, within 2 months of start and updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (no exemptions)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
- Various facility-specific forms and screenings must be completed prior to start
- Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles
- Radiation badges for new candidates must be obtained through the facility (not provided by agency)
Competency & Testing
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units (not required for outpatient or specialty areas)
Additional Notes
- Longer assignment options available through January 3, 2026
- Candidate must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Some assignments may require fingerprinting and child abuse registry checks depending on unit
- References and performance evaluations required for credentialing
