Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech - Travel Assignment

Location: Hibbing, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
Schedule Details:

• Day/Evening/Night rotation
• 1 weekend per month
• On-call rotation: 1 weekday per week starting at 8 PM, plus weekend on-call from Friday 8 PM to Monday 6 AM

Qualifications

• Education:

  • Minimum: Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
  • Preferred: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
• Certifications:

  • Must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT
  • BLS required
  • COVID vaccine required
  • RVT preferred
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience

Position Summary

The Ultrasound Technician provides diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians, ensuring quality and accuracy appropriate to patient age. The role involves adhering to established standards of practice, patient care, and equipment management, while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures and protocols with technical accuracy and timeliness
• Identify anatomical orientation and understand the significance of structures visualized
• Ensure proper film identification and accurate documentation
• Conduct examinations following patient care and safety procedures
• Position patients to achieve quality diagnostic images per department protocol
• Document patient data, interventions, and responses according to policies
• Prepare and coordinate exams to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Operate and optimize ultrasound equipment; report and document malfunctions
• Initiate service calls as needed to maintain efficient department operations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Technical proficiency in ultrasound procedures and equipment operation
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Critical thinking and clinical application skills
• Ability to develop and identify film; knowledge of dark room and film file processes
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of patient safety and positioning techniques
• Ability to perform patient assessments and accurately document findings
• Strong organizational skills

This position offers a travel assignment opportunity for a qualified Sonographer/Ultrasound Tech seeking a 13-week contract in Northern Minnesota with a varied schedule including rotations and on-call duties.
