Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Portland, Oregon
Facility Type: Children's Hospital


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts, 12N - 36
  • Start Date: ASAP, any Wednesday
  • Schedule Requirements:
    • Weekends as needed
    • Holidays as needed
    • Floating within the site and across the hospital system is mandatory; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation

Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years specialty nursing experience preferred (1 year considered with strong experience)
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Oregon State RN License or proof of application/fingerprints required at submission
  • Must have applied for or hold an RN license
  • EPIC charting experience required (training provided if needed)
  • MFTI Certification preferred

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced - AHA required for L&D and Pediatric teams
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring (EFM) or Relias Fetal Monitoring - required for L&D
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, required for ER and Pediatric teams
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required for ER
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment

Mandatory Compliance & Background Checks

  • Criminal background check with 7-year search including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, county, federal, FACIS L3, and international searches if applicable
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year prior to start (annual TB questionnaire required)
  • Immunizations or immunity documentation required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (immune titer and vaccine series or signed declination)
    • Varicella
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination (Td not accepted)
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 12 months prior to start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation or declination required
  • Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety virtual questionnaire)

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete assigned education within one week of assignment
  • Must sign floating acknowledgement form
  • Two professional references required (supervisory or above, within 3 years)

Work Environment & Other Notes

  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Any color except black and camo for all specialties/units
  • Free parking in any unrestricted space
  • Low census cancellation policy: mandatory cancellation possible one shift per two-week pay period without penalty, must cancel 1.5 hours before shift start
