Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR
Location: Weston, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: RN with Cardio Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of direct CVOR experience with scrub experience
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- On-Call Requirement: Cardiac call required (approximately 6 minimum calls per month; may increase if short-staffed)
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (36 guaranteed hours) or 8/10 hour shifts (40 guaranteed hours)
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes, locals paid same rate
- Pending License Accepted: No
- Special Requirements:
- Must have experience in Cardiac OR and be able to manage call setup and start
- Time-sensitive training modules must be prioritized and completed promptly

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider card or RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider card or RQI acceptable
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - Must be obtained prior to start
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemo, EFM)
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) required within 1 year of start
- Smoke-free facility: all travelers must be nicotine-free with negative drug screen results
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations or titers:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal Influenza vaccine required annually (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 2 years of start (for travel and acute care positions)
- Pass/fail testing on EKG and pharmacology during orientation (2 attempts allowed)
- Completion of online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RNs within 30 days of start
- Acknowledgement of HIPAA and safety manuals
- Compliance with facility-specific policies and documentation
Notes
- Candidates must include all requested time-off (RTO) upfront in submission; additions later may not be approved
- Cardiac call shifts include weekday and weekend coverage; weekend shifts are 24 hours
- Modules and onboarding process are time-sensitive and must be completed before starting assignment
- Facility is smoke-free and requires nicotine-free status verified by drug screening
