Description

Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Beachwood, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Patient Population: Post-operative patients monitored overnight with planned discharge the next morning
  • Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
  • Licensure: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
  • Certifications Required:
    • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Charting System: Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months required
  • References: One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (Charge RN references accepted)
  • Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday
  • Testing:
    • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation; passing scores required

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
  • Background checks including FCRA compliant 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, fingerprinting (FBI and BCI)
  • Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract and updated annually
  • Education verification required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (for new candidates signing after 4/11/2025)
  • Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months and updated annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (seasonal)
  • Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
  • Eye exam required within 1 year of start for new candidates (Snellen exam)
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing
  • Pass/fail ECG and medication testing during orientation (SafeMedicate)
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement and pass/fail testing acknowledgement
  • State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

Additional Requirements

  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar specialty
  • Skills checklist required annually
  • Must complete Cleveland Clinic online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
  • Candidates must be aware that onboarding modules take multiple days and are high priority
  • Candidates returning with a gap of less than 6 months may have some requirements waived (e.g., pass/fail testing, modules)
  • Candidates must complete fingerprinting both through agency and facility processes
