Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Assignment
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse I-IV) coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population on assigned units. The role ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards, demonstrating professionalism and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC or ATCN certifications required
- CPI or equivalent preferred
Experience & Skills
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
- Sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery
- Clear and age-appropriate communication skills
Work Environment
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
- Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment
- Varied working hours with flexibility for emergencies and schedule changes
- Physically demanding: prolonged standing/walking, patient positioning, reaching, bending, and manual dexterity required
Essential Functions
- Conduct initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
- Systematically reassess patients to monitor progress and identify intervention needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans within nursing standards
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans accordingly
Staff Responsibilities
- Use effective communication to achieve intended outcomes
- Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments to ensure patient care support activities are completed
- Follow chain of command for issue resolution
- Participate in orientation of new staff and students
- Serve as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff
- Promote a positive, professional, and supportive work environment
- Engage in unit growth and organizational improvement efforts
- Collaborate with team members to meet unit and organizational goals
Customer Relations
- Foster high patient/customer satisfaction and respect for rights and confidentiality
- Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills
- Maintain the hospital’s credibility, integrity, and positive image
- Support the mission, goals, and continuous service improvement

- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Interpret and communicate Human Resources policies accurately
- Adapt readily to changes in work environment or schedule
