Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist - West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders.
- Primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities.
- Supervise respiratory care students.
- Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures.
- Maintain patient records.
- Select, assemble, check, and operate respiratory care equipment.
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to patient populations including Neonate, Infant, Toddler, School Age, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
Work Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required once every scheduling period
- May cover other shifts as needed
Preferred Experience
- Some pediatric experience preferred
Required Credentials and Onboarding Requirements
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for clinical positions (AHA or ARC acceptable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Professional license verification (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start)
Education & Verification
- Highest level of education verified through a third party (diploma/transcripts if needed)
Health & Immunizations
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start (THC not required)
- COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- TB Test (negative test within past year; if history of positive test, additional documentation required)
- Fit Test for approved respirators prior to start
- Health Statement from physician within last 12 months
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted)
- Tdap (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (required annually by 12/01 during Sept 1 – March 31 season; vaccine or facility declination accepted)
Background & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender)
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- SING check within 30 days of start
- NSO and OFAC checks within 30 days of start (may be combined with background check)
- I-9 Attestation (completed on agency letterhead)
- GRH Skills Checklist (completed within 12 months, does not expire)
- OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completes, not provider)
- Driver’s License or State ID (unexpired government-issued photo ID)
- Contract Employee Data Sheet
- Pre-Orientation CBL Acknowledgement Form
