Description
Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Travel/Contract
Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 or 48 hour option)
- Experience: Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Licensure: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
- Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS required
- Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday
- Assessments:
- ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication test during orientation (passing score required)
- PBDS Assessment waived
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-Issued Photo ID: Must carry while on assignment
- Background Checks:
- FCRA compliant 7-year search including SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 48 hours of contract signing, valid within 12 months, updated annually
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates
- References: Two references from employment within one year, from manager/supervisor level
- Employment Application: Must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
Certifications Required
- Mandatory:
- ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI acceptable)
- Preferred/As Applicable:
- PALS (for PICU, Pediatric Stepdown, Pediatric OR preferred)
- NRP (for L&D, OB/GYN, NICU)
- TNCC (preferred for ER)
- Tech Cert Verification (CVOR, NBSTSA)
- Other:
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation (required for all bedside RNs except OR)
- State License Verification and NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start
- NIH Stroke Certification (preferred for certain units)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
- Fit Mask: N95 fit test within 12 months, updated annually
- Vaccinations/Immunizations:
- Tdap every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer, booster if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination documentation
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer, booster if negative/equivocal
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31)
- Drug Testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant screens not accepted)
- Eye Exam: Required within 1 year of start for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later
Orientation & Training
- Completion of online training modules prior to start is mandatory
- Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
- Candidates must watch training videos fully before taking tests
- SafeMedicate prep materials provided for medication competency exam during orientation
- Retakes of pass/fail tests available after 1 week if needed
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to complete fingerprinting at the facility in addition to agency process
- Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 6 months may need to retake orientation modules and assessments
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID at all times during assignment
- Compliance with all background checks, certifications, and health requirements is strictly enforced
