Job Description

  • Open heart experience required
  • Scrub experience required
  • EPIC experience required
  • Minimum 2 years CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience
  • BLS certification required
  • Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with alternating days off
  • On-call: 1-2 call days per week with 30-minute response time
  • Weekend coverage: Every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM)
  • Holiday coverage: Expected to work at least 1 major holiday
  • Floating: As needed
  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Interview & Screening

  • Clinical pre-screen to determine fit
  • Manager interview required

Return to Office (RTO)

  • Maximum 7 days

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • State RN license verification (primary source online verification)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
    • NURSYS verification for RN
    • Tech Cert Verification (if applicable)
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
    • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
    • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (PA Childline) required within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
    • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted)
    • Immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (full vaccine series or positive titer plus declination if applicable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required annually by October 31
    • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
    • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
  • Facility Specific Documents:
    • Passport-style photo for badge
    • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form (preferred within 90 days)
    • WellSpan Health Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit (all must be reviewed and signed)
    • I9 and Documentation Attestation (agency to complete)
    • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration (if applicable)
    • Completion of WellSpan LMS modules and New Hire Orientation by first day
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health; remediation and second attempt process applies if failed
    • Skills checklist required annually
  • History & References:
    • Two professional references within 3 years
    • Most recent resume/application required
    • Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be prepared to work in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment
  • Floating to other units as needed
  • Must be able to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required as specified
