Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Deliver nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Provide high-quality care to Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry patient populations.
- Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
- ACLS certification is required.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for clinical positions
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required
- Professional Nursing License – Primary source verification required (BON & NURSYS for RNs)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Complete GRH Skills Checklist (valid for 12 months)
- BD Screening Attestation
- COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Fit Test (acceptable masks include Moldex 1510, 3M 1860s, 3M 1860, Moldex 1513, 3M 1870+ Respirator)
- Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- TB Test (negative test within past year; if history of positive, additional documentation required)
- Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted)
- Background Check (within 30 days of start; includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender)
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
- Education Verification (third-party verification required)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG screening (within 30 days of start)
- Two professional references (one must be from a supervisor)
- Drug Screen (10 panel within 30 days; THC not required)
- SING, NSO, OFAC screenings (within 30 days of start)
- I9 Attestation (completed on agency letterhead)
- Color Vision test
- Contract Employee Data Sheet
- OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completes)
- Pre-Orientation Computer-Based Learning (CBL) Acknowledgement
- Influenza Vaccine (seasonal, Sept 1 – March 31; vaccine or facility declination accepted; due by Dec 1 annually)
