Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Kinston, North Carolina
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:00)
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)
- No call, no block scheduling
- Experience: Minimum 2 years required
- First-time travelers welcome
- ED Setting: 34 beds, patient population from neonates to geriatrics
- Average ED volume: ~100 visits per day
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required
- Equipment: Use of EPIC and Pyxis systems
- Team: ED provider (MD/PA) available, triage area, telemetry, some conscious sedation
- Floating: Expected to float to similar or lower acuity units if needed
- Charge Nurse: Preferred but not required
Required Certifications
- NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Orientation
- 24 hours
Additional Requirements
- Must include Return to Office (RTO) in submission to be honored at time of offer
- Must have required background checks and verifications completed (7-year criminal check, education verification, drug screening, etc.)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Immunizations and health documents required (Tdap, TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine during flu season, COVID vaccination documentation if applicable)
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Fit mask test required for some roles (can be completed onsite)
- Facility-specific training modules to be completed during orientation
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam and unit competency exam required as applicable
Notes
- No local travelers within a 50-mile radius allowed
- Candidates will not interview; fast offers process
- Background checks and certifications must be current and valid at start date (no certifications expiring within 30 days of start accepted without proof of renewal plan)
This position is ideal for RNs with emergency department experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a busy ED environment and have the required certifications and EPIC experience.
