Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Johnson City, Tennessee
Specialty: Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (use whichever is appropriate for the employment agreement)
- No call, rotating weekends
- Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without financial penalty if census decreases
- Additional shifts above work commitment are overtime and may be flexed based on census/resource needs without penalty
- Traveler must live within 100 miles of the facility
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Accepts first-time travelers
- Telemetry experience preferred
- AHA BLS required; AHA ACLS and NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
- Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
Certifications & Licenses
- Required:
- AHA BLS (Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
- State nursing license primary source verification
- NURSYS verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Competency exams as applicable
- Preferred/As Applicable:
- AHA ACLS
- NIH Stroke Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) for ER (can be pending at start)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER (highly preferred)
- National certification for surgical techs if applicable
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
Background Checks & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check required if licensed/certified in TN or working in TN
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Fit mask testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility sources not accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable (2 PPDs within last 12 months or QGold/TSPOT within 3 months)
- MMR titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) with documentation of boosters if low immunity
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (booster accepted if titers negative or equivocal)
- Varicella titer with documentation of boosters if low immunity
- Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start (instant acceptable as placeholder)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge within 48 hours of contract signing (ID photo standards apply)
- Completion of staff info form within 24 hours of contract signing
- Review and compliance with department-specific uniform guidelines and dress code
- Completion of contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement (Hep C titer required if exposure risk)
- Review of smoking and tobacco use policy
- Review of influenza policy and completion of flu exemption forms if applicable
- Completion of respirator medical evaluation questionnaire within 48 hours of contract signing
- Respiratory medical clearance form to be completed by candidate and facility
- Review of CDC facial hair guidelines for respirator use

This position is ideal for RNs with telemetry experience who are comfortable with a flexible schedule and committed to supporting nursing education. Compliance with all background checks, certifications, and health requirements is mandatory.
