Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- 36-hour night shift position
- Schedule: 2 shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM and 1 shift from 9 PM to 9 AM
- Every other weekend rotation required
- May occasionally flex to a different campus
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for ER, ICU, L&D, Mother Baby, PACU, Pediatric ER, PCU, RRT (except NICU only)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all clinical staff including techs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ER, Pediatric ER, all RN Pediatric specialties, RRT-PICU, RRT (if working in Pediatrics or Pediatric ER)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required for L&D and RRT-NICU
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER & Pediatric ER (TCRN certificate acceptable if TNCC not obtained before start)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for L&D, must be AWHONN certified
- Tech Cert Verification - National: As applicable by profession and state
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Annual signed acknowledgment covering Joint Commission Training and Safety Manual
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Basic Dysrhythmia exam required for most clinical candidates, must score 88% or higher, with limited attempts allowed
- State License Verification: Primary source verification prior to start and upon expiration
- NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for Behavioral Health, ER, Pediatric ER, ICU specialties, L&D, Mother Baby, MS, MS/Tele, OR, PACU, PCU (not required for Peds, RRT, or techs)
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Annual requirement with remediation and limited attempts
Required Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for all RN candidates, passing score 80%, 2 attempts allowed within 6 months
- Competency Exam: Required where applicable, passing score 80%, 2 attempts allowed within 6 months
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required within 12 months of start for most clinical candidates, passing score 88%, 3 attempts allowed within 6 months
Background Checks & Verifications
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years (including SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, DMV if applicable, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
- HHS/OIG check upon hire
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results required within 90 days of start (full results required, not receipts)
- Education verification for highest level relative to specialty
- Pennsylvania Medicheck Search within 30 days of start
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 90 days of start
- Pennsylvania PATCH Search within 90 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit test questionnaire required for respirator use
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 90 days, or 2 PPDs with one within 90 days and one within 12 months)
- TB questionnaire annually if past positive TB
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series; declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC also acceptable), no instant tests, observed drug screen required if dilute result
- Hepatitis C titer (non-reactive) required only for Operating Room and Dental, within 12 months of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination required for new candidates starting October through May; declination allowed only under specific conditions with required documentation
- COVID-19 vaccination required or signed declination with facility-specific form
Facility-Specific Documents
- Photo for badge (new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and later): recent, forward-facing, color photo with solid background
- Affidavit for provisional employment prior to start
- COVID and flu declination forms if applicable
Other Requirements
- Fit mask test completed onsite (not required for 100% remote non-clinical candidates)
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for candidates starting 04/07/2025 and beyond
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history, education, license/certification info, and contact information
- Work history verification required for non-clinical candidates including 100% remote
- Application must include explanations for gaps over 90 days
