Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician (Travel)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to generate quality images for physicians.
- Operate specialized cameras to detect and map radioactive drugs.
- Handle radiopharmaceuticals (ordering, preparing, administering, disposing) following safety protocols.
- Ensure image quality and prompt submission to PACS.
- Maintain a clean department and report equipment malfunctions.
- Work independently as the sole technologist on shift.
- Use Siemens Symbia equipment (experience required).
- Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment in a stressful environment with minimal supervision.
- Strictly follow radiation safety guidelines and Standard Precautions.
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS Provider (AHA certification required)
- Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification
- Nuclear Medicine specialization certification from NMTCB or ARRT
