Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Marysville, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Units: Primarily Med/Surg Floor with assistance in ER
• Facility Type: 26-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with an active ER
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• Preferred Experience: Critical Access Hospital experience and charge nurse experience (charge nurse duties likely on some night shifts)
• Travel Experience: Preferred but locals accepted
• Start Date: January

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Licensure

• Valid State Nursing License (compact license accepted with residency declaration)
• NURSYS verification required as applicable

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
• I9 Attestation or Proof
• E-Verify Attestation or Proof
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender checks
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • State-specific exclusion list checks (Kansas and Missouri)
• Employment Application/Resume
• Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Performance and internal evaluations if worked over 1 year with the agency
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit

Health & Safety Requirements

• Initial physical exam and annual updates attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for travelers)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually; chest X-ray if past positive
  • Rubeola (Measles) titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Mumps titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Rubella titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted
• COVID-19: Full vaccination required; no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions subject to approval)

Orientation & Competency

• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (includes HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission training)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) or signed attestations covering required topics

Dress Code

• Scrubs allowed any color during orientation
• Post-orientation: Scrubs any color, solid colors preferred

This position is ideal for RNs with Med/Surg and ER experience, especially those familiar with Critical Access Hospitals and interested in night shift travel assignments.
