Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Job Summary
Registered Nurses provide nursing care to patients and families following the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Nursing Practice. Responsibilities include primary nursing care, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in the Emergency Room setting.
Requirements
- Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required
- Licensure: Current RN license in Rhode Island required
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- PALS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- NIH Certification (American Heart Association)
- Vaccinations & Health:
- COVID-19 vaccine series or bivalent booster required (medical exemptions reviewed)
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (9/1/25 - 5/31/26)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination (titers not accepted)
- MMR (proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer)
- Varicella (proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer)
- Tdap within last 10 years
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (within last year)
- Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year
- Other:
- CPR certification maintained
- Ability to lift and transport patients with assistance
- Proficiency in English
Onboarding & Documentation
- Nursing license verification and primary source verification within 30 days of start
- Criminal background check (Federal, County, National, Statewide) within 6 months
- Rhode Island fingerprinting within 30 days of start
- Employment verification for last 5 years
- Professional references (minimum one supervisory)
- Skills checklist and competency exams specific to RN role
- Completion of orientation packet and confidentiality agreement
- Proof of BSN (diploma or transcripts) required
- Badge photo with neutral background
- Occupational health clearance form upon offer acceptance
Additional Notes
- EPIC experience is required
- COVID and flu vaccination policies must be adhered to annually
- Fit testing for specific N95 masks is required prior to start (on-site fit testing available only if current mask is not carried)
- Positive PPD history requires negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire (optional if applicable)
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs licensed in Rhode Island who meet the specified certification and health requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
