Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: Vallejo, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- ARRT R.T.(T) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Prior travel experience preferred
Background Check Requirements
- 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:
- Social Security trace with all aliases
- County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
- Nationwide sex offender search (within 90 days of start)
- Education verification (highest level achieved, except if high school)
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List searches (annual updates)
- Transcript/Diploma verification as needed
- Pending background check attestation generally not accepted at certain facilities; conditional clearances require approval
Certifications Required / Recommended
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only (verify by position)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only (verify by position)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP only, Instructor or Advanced Provider Course (verify by position)
- CCRN (Critical Care RN) – verify by position
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – valid for 4 years (verify by position)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – typically for Labor & Delivery (verify by position)
- State Professional License – copy required if verification does not include license number
- State License Verification – primary source online verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
- IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other) – may be required for some MRI and CT Techs
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – verify by position
- NIH Stroke Certification – verify by position; expiration 1-2 years
- Miscellaneous Certifications (e.g., Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Imaging for Maternal-Fetal Ultrasound Techs) – verify by position
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – verify by position
- Tech Certification Verification (National) – required within 30 days of start as applicable
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – required as applicable
- Competency Exam – required as applicable; minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score if higher
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – may be required for some Telemetry units
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work or specify restrictions)
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start; annual renewal required (exceptions apply)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap – adult TDAP within 10 years required
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 90 days of start; annual renewal required
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
- Color Blind Exam (in-person) if applicable
- Respiratory Safety Clearance prior to start; annual renewal required (exceptions apply)
Facility Specific Documents and Compliance
- Candidates must review and sign:

- Vendor Training (2024 and 2025 versions depending on contract date)
- Code of Conduct (2024 and 2025 versions depending on contract date)

- Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation required prior to start
- Religious exemption forms required for PAPR use and certain vaccine exemptions
- TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Epic Questionnaire required for RNs starting 11/3/2025 and onward
Employment History and References
- Full 7 years of work history required on application, including city and state, with no gaps
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
- 2 professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates (within 3 years)
- 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care candidates

- Background checks and certifications must be kept current and uploaded as required
- Some certifications and requirements may vary by position; verify with assigned manager or clinical lead
- Candidates with positive immunization exemptions must complete facility-specific religious accommodation forms
- Failure to meet any of the above requirements may delay or prevent clearance to start assignment
