Unit Information

• Department: Radiology Ultrasound
• Coverage Areas: ER, Inpatient, RWCH, Outpatient (4 scheduled rooms)
• Number of Staff: 9 full-time, 3 PRN covering 24 hours/day
• Shift Coverage:

  • Day Shift: 5 ultrasound/vascular techs
  • Night Shift: 1 ultrasound/vascular tech
• Patient Ratios: Not specified
• Equipment Used:

  • GE Logiq e9 (7 units)
  • GE Logiq e10 (1 unit)
• EMR System: Not specified

Job Requirements

• Certifications Required:

  • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist)
  • ARRT (S) or ARDMS Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer specialty
• Skills Required:

  • Competent performance of general and vascular ultrasound exams
• Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN ultrasound exams
  • All vascular ultrasound exams including carotid, venous, arterial, and PVRs (Pulse Volume Recordings)

Work Environment & Schedule

• Dress Code: Any solid, non-bright colored scrubs
• Weekend Coverage: Weekend night coverage is required
• On Call: No on-call duties
