• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred

Work Environment

• 1 endoscopy suite, 2 ORs
• Average cases per day:

  • 5 endoscopy cases Monday-Friday
  • 9 cataracts every other Wednesday
  • Approximately 3 scheduled C-sections per month
  • 1-2 podiatry cases every Monday
• Common cases include Endoscopy, C-Sections, D&Cs, Cataract Extractions, Podiatry, and Resterilization of Surgical Instruments

Skills and Responsibilities

• Endoscopy and C-section experience preferred but not required
• Scrubbing or willingness to learn to scrub required/preferred
• RNs cross-trained to scrub, resterilize, and perform OR tech roles
• Floating to admission/discharge side of surgery when no surgical cases, assisting with outpatient IV therapy, wound dressing changes, and blood transfusions

Scheduling and Shifts

• Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• 1 in 3 on-call after hours
• Call requirements:

  • 1-2 weeknights per week
  • Every 3rd weekend
  • Rotating holiday call coverage (6 recognized holidays)
• Call response time: 20 minutes, with ASAP response expected
• Block scheduling used
• Orientation: 1-2 weeks unit-specific, plus variable buddy on-call orientation

Additional Information

• EMR system: Meditech 6
• Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs provided or bring your own (laundered in-house)
• Manager/Charge Nurse present on each shift
• Radius rule: 50 miles; candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
• Return to Office (RTO) needed within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approved
