Radiology Technologist Position
Location: Billings, Montana
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing Contract
Job Summary
Perform radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic images according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer for exams, operating X-Ray imaging equipment, assisting with X-ray examinations, and ensuring image quality for radiologic diagnosis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-Ray procedures and operate all related imaging equipment.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients appropriately for X-Ray procedures.
- Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
- Submit images and clinical information to Radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality and maintain open communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
- Utilize and maintain department supplies properly.
- Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Safely perform patient transfers during X-Ray procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast agents as per Radiologist protocols.
- Follow Radiation Safety Measures (ALARA) to protect patients and staff.
- Supervise and evaluate Student Radiographers in the clinical setting.
Required Skills & Experience
- Effective and diplomatic communication within a multi-functional team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn relevant applications.
Radiation Badge Requirement
- A personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required.
- Providers are encouraged to use an existing badge from a previous assignment if available to maintain continuous exposure records.
- New badges will not reflect prior exposure history.
Contract Length
Approximately 14 weeks.
