Medical Laboratory Technician - Contract Opportunity

Job Description

• Perform routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens across all sections of Clinical Laboratory Medicine.
• Conduct microscopic, chemical, hematological, immunologic, or bacteriologic assays according to established standards.
• Calibrate and operate all instruments and equipment following preventive maintenance schedules.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Certification: American Society for Clinical Pathology - Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Successful completion of a supervised one-year clinical internship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC system preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Additional Information

• Must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment (8,000 ft elevation)
• Not accepting any Return to Office (RTO) requests formally, but accommodations may be attempted
• Housing is the responsibility of the traveler; housing costs are extremely high, especially in winter
• Consider housing options in nearby towns such as Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs
• Typical rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in Basalt is around $3,500/month; travelers with lower housing budgets may not be suitable for this assignment
