OR - RN Specialty Travel Job

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience (higher years of experience not indicated elsewhere)
• Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with level 1 trauma status
• Experience working in an acute facility with 15 or more OR suites (outpatient center experience not accepted)
• Experience with robotics, DaVinci preferred
• Strong general and ENT surgical experience
• Experience with Neuro/Ortho procedures and navigation systems

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS Certification required
• RN license in North Dakota or Compact license

Job Duties

• Circulating nurse responsibilities including:

  • Documenting and caring for patients in the operative setting
  • Sterile prepping of surgical sites
  • Catheter insertion
  • Opening sterile supplies
  • Positioning patients for surgical procedures
  • Documenting within an electronic record system
  • Utilizing and setting up operating room equipment (e.g., cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, Stealth navigation for Neuro cases)

Work Environment

• 25 OR suites with 75 to 100 cases per day on average
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:1
• Equipment includes computerized charting modeled after EPIC system and Accudose

Schedule & Shift Details

• 8 or 10 hour shifts, 40 hours per week
• May need to stay late as needed (not considered call back)
• Rotate to PM shift in rotation with all staff
• Call required 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends

Additional Information

• May float rarely to Broadway or South University campus if needed
• Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Cannot accept travelers living within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Local travel rate adjustments apply for those living 60 to 80 miles away
• Must disclose if previously worked for the facility; if so, last assignment must have ended at least 6 months prior to submission
