Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Medford, Oregon
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Home Health)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 8-hour day shifts only (no 4x10 or 3x12 shifts)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1 (may visit up to 6 patients per day; 30 productivity points standard)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of skilled home health nursing experience
  • First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • Certifications Required: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • On-Call: No
  • Floating: No floating between units required
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, within 50-75 mile radius
  • Pending License: Accepted
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off up to one shift every two weeks
  • Transportation: Traveler must have own transportation; occasional travel up to 50+ miles
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Primary series plus one booster required
  • Charting System: EPIC/Oasis (Oasis experience required)
  • Attire: Any color scrubs
  • Parking: Free
  • Mileage Reimbursement: IRS standard

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Years of Experience: At least 1 year of skilled home health nursing experience
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Certifications:
    • BCLS (required)
    • Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) may be required depending on unit or specialty; verify with clinical leadership
  • Licensure: Valid Oregon nursing license; pending licenses accepted
  • Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start; includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide checks, motor vehicle record, and state-specific abuse/neglect searches as applicable
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
  • Immunizations & Health Screenings:
    • COVID-19 vaccination or declination
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Respirator Clearance: Required for travel nurses, completed annually
  • Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel nurses, updated annually; onsite testing available if needed

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Oasis Documentation Experience: Required
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
  • Skills Checklist: Annual update required for applicable units
  • WorkRamp Modules:
    • Completion of Oregon Core Modules for RNs prior to start
    • Specialty-specific modules may be required depending on assignment
    • Epic training modules required within one week of orientation
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years

  • Block Scheduling: Not available
  • Locals: Candidates living within 50-75 miles considered local and paid at the same rate
  • Pending Licenses: Accepted with confirmation
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel up to one shift every two weeks

This position is ideal for experienced home health RNs who have at least one year of skilled home health experience, are comfortable with day shifts, and have experience with EPIC/Oasis documentation systems. Reliable transportation and compliance with vaccination and health screening requirements are mandatory.
