Job Opportunity: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Lewistown, Missouri
Employment Type: Temporary Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting in clinical records.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services as needed; make referrals based on outcomes.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Document all required information accurately in electronic systems and maintain patient records.
• Record treatment minutes in compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and other required meetings.
• Attend facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as required.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Adhere to ASHA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.
• Maintain active ASHA certification and Missouri State licensure.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience (higher requirement applies).
• Specialty Experience: Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings is required.
• Licensure: Active Missouri State License required.
• Certification: CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) required.
• New Graduates: Accepted if Level II clinical experience is completed (Level I observation experience alone is not sufficient).

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
