Job Description

• Position: ED Overnight Ultrasound Technician (32 hours/week)
• Shifts:

  • Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (Emergency Department)
  • Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Women's Health Center)
• Unit: General Ultrasound Technologist ER
• Setting: One ultrasound room in a radiology suite within the Emergency Department
• Patient Population: Emergency Room patients and inpatients
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Bed Count: 1
• Charting System: EPIC

Requirements

• Specialty: Ultrasound Technician
• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
• Certifications: RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) required
• Prior travel experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Health and Professional Credentials Required Before Start

• Professional license and/or certification primary source verification (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
• Fit Test (N95 respirator) within 365 days, updated annually
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
• Influenza vaccine during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed
• TB test (skin or blood test) within 3 months, updated if >6 month break
• Physician health statement within 365 days, updated if >6 month break
• Criminal background checks including:

  • National and Massachusetts CORI
  • SSN trace for last 7 years
  • National sex offender registry check
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid)
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above)
• Skills checklist
• Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance
• Education verification (highest level achieved)
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)

Additional Notes

• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or fit testing
• Fit testing cannot be done onsite; must be completed prior to start
• Documentation must be uploaded and maintained current throughout assignment
• All background checks and credential verifications must be completed prior to onboarding

This position is ideal for an Ultrasound Technician with at least 1 year of experience, RDMS certification, and the ability to work overnight weekend shifts in an emergency department setting.
