Description
Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Start Date: January 26
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (9:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: No
- Call Requirements: None
- Guaranteed Hours: May be called off or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift in a 2-week cycle during low census
- Average Daily Census:
- 16 therapists
- 20 physicians
- 90 patients
- Patient Population: Pediatric and adult cases
- Case Types: Palliative care, pain management, fast-paced environment with 15-20 minute patient time slots
- Department Hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 3 years
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Prior Travel Experience Required: No indication of prior travel experience required
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (T) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Therapy certification
- Washington State License (must be active; pending license not accepted)
Work Environment & Systems
- Facility Type: Magnet, Teaching Center
- Staffed Beds: 637
- Scrub Code: Any color scrubs or business casual clothing (no jeans for radiation therapy)
- Charting System: EPIC
- Equipment:
- 4 machines: 1 Cyclotron, 2 Elekta Infinity, 1 Varian Ethos
- Mosaic system for machines and patient info
- EPIC for scheduling
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- Must run checks including counties, nationwide, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 1, WATCH (WA Access to Criminal History)
- Education verification required for Med Lab Techs (not applicable here)
- Sex offender search and state-specific WA WATCH search required
- Drug screen: 10-panel drug screen within one year of start (required by agency, not facility)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by agency, signed within 1 year of start
- Fit Mask: Fit test required within 9-12 months of start (N95 masks preferred)
- Vaccinations & Titers:
- TDAP within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination required; documentation of vaccine series and serology needed
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (history of disease not accepted at this facility)
- Influenza: Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination with education module completion required during flu season
- COVID-19: Vaccination or declination required for tracking
Additional Requirements
- Background & Compliance Documents: Various facility-specific agreements and checklists must be completed prior to start
- Performance Evaluation: Requested at end of assignment (Montlake location)
- Radiation Badge: New candidates must obtain badge from the facility; not provided by agency
Notes for Candidates
- Locals are accepted
- No weekend or call requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is essential
- Must be able to accommodate the specified day shift schedule
- Maximum of 6 days off allowed during contract (RTO restrictions)
