Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Weekend Hours: Two weekends per 4-week schedule

  • Patient Population: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Patient Ratios:
    • ESI 1, 2, & Horizontal 3s – 4:1
    • ESI Vertical 3s, 4, & 5 – 7:1
  • EHR System: MedHost

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse License (New Mexico)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department nursing
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing minimum

Job Environment & Culture

  • Facility Type: Joint Commission Accredited, Level IV Trauma Center
  • Unit Size: 20 beds
  • Common Diagnoses/Treatments: High acuity emergency cases
  • Personality Fit: Positive attitude, flexible, willing to teach
  • Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; no t-shirts or clothing with other facility logos

Additional Requirements

  • Must be fingerprinted and undergo background check per New Mexico state requirements
  • Travelers may start on a 14-day waiver while background check is pending but must be supervised
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff

This is a travel RN position in the Emergency Department requiring at least 2 years of ED experience, current RN licensure, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The role offers varied shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week and requires working two weekends per month.
