Position Details
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks

- Shift: 36/48 (likely 36 hours on, 48 hours off)
- Ratios: 1:1 patient ratio
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (facility may call off up to 3 times)

Experience & Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- First-timers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-timers not accepted)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Note: RQI certifications are NOT accepted.
Licensure
- Must have a valid New Mexico professional license (original with 3D seal required onsite)
- Pending licenses accepted
- NURSYS verification required
- Valid non-local driver’s license required (ID cards not accepted)
Background & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within one year of start
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (unless completed within past 12 months)
- Education verification required (diploma or transcript acceptable if 3rd party verification unavailable)
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start (negative result, no instant screens)
- Physical exam required within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start (specific N95 masks accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations required:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Hepatitis B: Declination, series, or titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer (history of disease not accepted)
- Flu vaccine required year-round with exemptions accepted (facility-specific form)
- COVID vaccination required with religious and medical exemptions accepted (exemption form required)
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% to pass)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam required, 80% overall and 100% on Lethal Arrhythmia section)
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) through Relias required
- Arrhythmia Exam Review and attestation required for certain units
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification may be required depending on unit
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on unit

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology RNs with prior travel contract experience who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable working in a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environment.
