Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Unit Details

  • 4x12 hour shifts, nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekends and holidays included
  • No call required
  • Patient population includes Cardiac, Diabetes, CHF, COPD, Renal, General Surgery, Orthopedics
  • Unit: 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
  • May float to like or lower acuity units as needed
  • May take IMCU patients based on census

Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated (default to 0+ years unless otherwise specified)
  • Must be proficient with Insulin, Heparin, and Lasik drips
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required

Certifications & Training

  • CPI: Online NCI/CPI required for ICU, IMCU, Med-Surg/Telemetry, NICU, L&D; ER RNs require in-person CPI course
  • Other certifications may be required as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke, STABLE) depending on unit assignment

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days while on assignment
  • Education verification required within 90 days of start (diploma or transcript)
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted except as placeholder)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test required for RRT (can be completed onsite)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tdap within 10 years (titer not accepted)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or physician documented history)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Feb 28)
  • COVID vaccination proof required if vaccinated; unvaccinated candidates must complete declination form

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Candidates must complete facility-specific documents including:
    • Code of Conduct Attestation
    • Confidentiality Statement
    • User Access Request Form
    • Standards of Communication
    • Vehicle Registration Form
    • TB Questionnaire (facility specific)
    • COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire (within 15 days of start)
  • LMS modules to be completed during orientation (with up to 7 days post-start to finish)
  • NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) training required for ER RNs, with on-site training and completion within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

  • No local candidates within 50-mile radius accepted
  • Must include requested time off (RTO) in submission
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
