Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

Join a fast-paced, high-acuity Cardiac Cath Lab performing advanced cardiac procedures daily, including complex coronary cases, electrophysiology (EP) studies, and structural heart interventions. This role requires confidence, skill, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.


Schedule & Work Details

  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (5x8 days)
  • Call required every 3rd weekend
  • Rotate between 3 labs, supporting 10–12 coronary cases and 5–8 EP cases daily, plus device procedures
  • May cover OR or a 4th lab as needed
  • Be ready to start by 7:00–7:30 AM, including for specialized cases like TAVR
  • Saturday elective cases handled by call team

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Strong experience in Structural Heart procedures and Electrophysiology (EP)
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) experience required
  • Ability to scrub, circulate, and monitor procedures independently from day one
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing cases with minimal supervision
  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers will be considered if experience requirements are met

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (Registered Radiologic Technologist) or CCI RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
  • Flexible to consider candidates with RCIS or ARRT certification combined with Cath Lab scrubbing and monitoring experience

  • Cardiologists expect agency caregivers to arrive fully competent
  • This assignment is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs looking to deepen their skills in a respected program
  • Scrubs are provided

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID
  • Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, and federal exclusions
  • Education verification (official transcript or diploma)
  • Primary source verification of certifications and licenses within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months
  • Fit mask testing completed onsite
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, with follow-up if positive
  • Required vaccinations or documented immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
  • Professional references (2) within 3 years of start
  • Employment application, skills checklist, and work history verification
