    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Everett, Washington

    Unit Information

    • Procedures include CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, Carotid Cutdown, VATS, RATS, Mediastinoscopy, Pericardial Windows, Tamponade, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
    • Preference for candidates able to scrub for all procedures (CVOR and General OR).

    Certifications Required

    • Required: BLS
    • Preferred: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CNOR

    Call Requirements

    • At least one weekend call per month
    • Five weekday evening calls per month

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
    • State-specific searches and registry checks as required by Washington state law
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and health screenings including:
      • TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
      • COVID vaccine or signed declination
    • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Respirator fit testing required for travel candidates (updated annually)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years

    Training & Competency Requirements

    • Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules as assigned (pre-start, specialty-specific, annual regulatory, and regional core modules)
    • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
    • Epic training modules completion required prior to moving to permanent documentation workflow (PDW)
    • Color blind testing if required by unit
    • Additional competency exams for Labor & Delivery RNs (EFM certification or equivalent)

    Additional Notes

    • Scrub color: Any except reddish orange
    • Must submit all requested RTO (Return to Office) restrictions at time of submittal
    • Float policy acknowledgment required due to possible floating to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance

    This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable with cardiac and general OR procedures, willing to work 4x10 day shifts with weekend and evening call responsibilities, and able to float to the Main OR unit. The role requires compliance with extensive health, background, and training documentation consistent with Providence Health and Services standards.
