Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position in Pre-Screen Unit; clinical fit determined by clinical review and manager interview.
- Level I Trauma experience required; must have at least Level II trauma experience (>1 year).
- Previous travel experience required.
- Call Requirements: 2-3 calls within a 6-week period with 30-minute response time.
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days.
- Weekend Shifts: 3-4 weekends within a 6-week period (can be days, evenings, or nights).
- Holidays: As needed, any shift.
- Floating: As needed.
- Must be able to function independently in the following specialties:
- Robotics (Davinci xi and DV5 robots only)
- Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Urology
- Bariatrics
- ENT
- Plastics
- Vascular
- Thoracic (excluding cardiac and open heart)
- Trauma
- Proficiency with robotic surgery required; bonus if familiar with DV5 Davinci robot.
- Prefer RNs who can scrub and circulate.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience.
- At least 1 year Level II trauma experience (Level I trauma preferred).
- Prior travel experience is explicitly required.
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- PALS (if applicable)
- NRP (if applicable)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) (if applicable)
- State License primary source verification required.
- NURSYS verification required.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health.
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health.
- Tech Cert Verification as applicable.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start.
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start.
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending).
- Education verification of highest degree required.
- 2 professional references within 3 years required.
- Most recent resume/application required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted. For positive results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; if negative/equivocal titers, boosters required. Exemptions for candidates born before 1957.
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) required, plus declination form if applicable.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if negative/equivocal titers. Exemptions for candidates born before 1957.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season; declinations not accepted.
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted.
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (Aya requirement only; not required by facility).
- Respiratory Safety clearance required within 1 year of start; renew annually.

- Must be proficient and able to function independently without refresher training.
- Prior travel experience is mandatory.
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified.
- May be required to care for COVID-19 patients.
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with strong trauma and robotic surgery skills who have prior travel nursing experience and are comfortable working independently across multiple specialties.
