Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care - Chicago, Illinois
Position Details
- Specialty: RN Critical Care
- Location: Chicago, Illinois
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit: High acuity ICU (30 Bed SICU-MICU-Neuro)
- Patient Population: Open heart, Neuro, CRRT experience required
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; sick calls on weekend shifts must be made up the following weekend
- Floating: Floating to other units expected if ICU census is low
- Return to Office (RTO): No RTO for holidays
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience with:
- Open heart surgery patients
- Neurology patients
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- CABG, Stroke, TNK protocols
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- NIHSS certification
- Must have prior critical care nursing experience (years not explicitly stated, but implied to be experienced in ICU and specialty areas)

- Valid Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
- Prime OIG clearance
- Prime SAM/EPLS exclusion check

- Signed job description

- Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC, within 60 days of start)
- Annual physical/health statement confirming clearance to work
- COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses plus booster or declination)
- Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
- MMR vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or immunity titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
- Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
- TB test and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit test for respirators (must be completed prior to start; no onsite fit testing in IL)
- Testing & Exams:
- Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
- Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
- Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
- Prime Skills Checklist (submission required)
- Additional:
- Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP)
- Onboarding education attestation completed prior to start

- Floating to other units may be required based on census.
- Strict schedule adherence with weekend and holiday coverage.
- No return to office requirement for holidays.
- High acuity ICU environment requiring strong critical care skills and certifications.
