Job Summary: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN - Nights)
Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)
Shift Details
- Night shift, 36 hours every other week (EOW)
- Holidays required as scheduled
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
- On-call not required
Unit Information
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Beds on Unit: 40
- Patient Population: Adolescents (Tanner score >4), Adults, Geriatrics
- Patient Diagnoses: MS/Tele, Med/Surg-Oncology
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Maryland RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE) - refer to job description/unit specifics
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Background Checks including:
- 7-year criminal search within 30 days of start (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education Verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Employment Application/Resume completed within 30 days of start
- Work History Verification: 7 years required (attestation acceptable for gaps)
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (1 must be supervisor/manager, 1 charge RN acceptable if directly supervised)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (3M N95 1860, 1860S, 9205+ or Technol; must be done prior to start)
- Immunizations/Vaccinations:
- Flu Vaccine or Medical/Religious Exemption required during flu season (10/6-3/31)
- Tdap required for units working with children/newborns (e.g., MotherBaby, L&D, NICU, Peds, ED)
- COVID vaccine not required but documentation collected for tracking
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (boosters acceptable)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination accepted (series not accepted)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray per facility protocol (updated annually)
- Negative Drug Screen (9 or 10 panel + Fentanyl) within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
Competency Exams (as applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 1 year)
- Color Blind Testing (one-time)
- Competency Exam (within 1 year)
- Age Specific Competency Exam (one-time)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (within 1 year, excludes some roles)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Facility-specific documents such as confidentiality agreement, badge photo, IT confidentiality agreement, respiratory protection questionnaire, dress code review, and job description acknowledgment must be completed prior to start
- Portfolio Epic Training Test Out Form may be required depending on Epic experience
Additional Notes
- Floating within specialty and to lower acuity units is required
- Holidays and every other weekend shifts are mandatory as scheduled
- On-call shifts are not required for this position
This position offers a 13-week travel contract starting either 12/15/2025 or 1/12/2026.
